What Does the Cross Really Represent?
Thank You, Heavenly Father, for enabling me to come to You and to know You. I want to contemplate what the cross really represents.
How weird it would be if we all wore little electric chairs around our necks as we do crosses. Why is it that I am more horrified to think of Jesus being electrocuted for my sins than I am that He died on the cross for my sins? I think it is because I have seen electrocutions in movies and believe they still happen in Texas. I have never seen a crucifixion - even in movies, that I can recall.
It is strange that we put drapes over the crosses in church. Are we trying to dress them up? What would a drape on an electric chair look like? Weird.
