When I was a child...

When I was a child...
My relationship with God is likened to my relationship as a child with my earthy dad…I want to be with my dad no matter where he is…fixing the combine, going to get parts, down to Howards, cleaning the barn, etc. I do not care if what we are doing is fun, it is a great time of fellowship and sweet to me because he is there with me and we are together. That is how my relationship with God needs to be seen. I need to remember that not all of life's moments are fun or happy or a "good time", but I need to remember that God is with me and we are going through it together and my focus is quality time with my Heavenly Father. THAT is exciting!!


Father, thank You for meeting with me and spending time with me this morning! I want to be reminded, moment by moment that my focus is on being with YOU and not the situation. I have been looking to the situation to make me happy, but I am reminded that the situation doesn't matter because my goal is to be with YOU. I need to write this on a note card and carry it around with me and look at it many times a day until I no longer need the note card to remember my goal. Praise be to God! To God be the glory, great things He has done! So loved He the world that He gave us His Son! Thank You, Jesus! I love You!


My goal is that in every situation, no matter if it is hard work, difficult, or fun, that I would look to God and know that my purpose is to spend my whole day, life, with Him! With God, I'm not focusing on the feelings I have in any situation, but focusing on being with God! Just as I don't care where Steve and I go or my dad and I would go, I just want to be with them. Whether I am at work or at play, I get to be with God!


John 7:37,38 "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him."


I am thirsty, Lord. I want those streams of living water to flow from within me and onto others. My the joy of the Lord fill my heart - no matter the circumstance- and onto others to lift them up and encourage them!


These "streams of living water" --that is what I desire. You are my desire. Be with me today, Lord, I pray. 


Make me a blessing today; Father, glorify Your name! AMEN! :D
